About John David "J.D." Merrill

John David "J.D." Merrill is a Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Brandon M. Scott at City of Baltimore. Colleagues describe them as "Genuine and wise young man” is the phrase that pops into my mind when I think about JD. I had the opportunity of knowing JD on the Hurricane IAN's Emergency response program in South West Florida at World Central Kitchen. JD’s problem solving skills are out of this world. When everyone thinks it’s the end of the world, he analyses the problem and helps the teams to come up with really viable solutions. After having very long days assisting communities on the ground, surrounded by crisis and disaster, JD always made sure at the end of the day that everyone was hyped. He knew how to motivate everyone! JD earns my highest recommendation not just as a thoughtful leader but as a team player as well."
