Dr Jean-Paul DOSSOU (MD, MPH, PhD) est un scientifique béninois en santé publique et Directeur exécutif du Centre de recherche en reproduction humaine et en démographie (CERRHUD) basé à Cotonou (Bénin). Il supervise le développement et le processus de mise en œuvre de nombreux projets de recherche et d'intervention en santé en Afrique subsaharienne, principalement financés par des partenaires internationaux bilatéraux et multilatéraux. Jean-Paul Dossou est aussi le Président du West African Network of Emerging Leaders in Health Policy and Systems (WANEL). Il siège actuellement au Conseil d'administration de l'Association africaine d'économie de la santé et est membre actif de Health System Global. Il est auteur ou coauteur de plus de 50 publications scientifiques sur divers questions de santé publique qui visent globalement à mieux comprendre et à lever les défis de mise en oeuvre des politiques d'accès aux soins de santé de qualité pour tous en Afrique Sub-Saharienne.

    Since March 2010, I was involved in the clinical trial AudObEm (Audit of Obstetric Emergencies) research project. I was in charge of the monthly data collection and monitoring of the activities of audit in 15 hospitals included in the trial in Benin. I’m now contributing to the data analysis. Since October 2011, I am involved in FEMHealth research project which aims to develop and apply new tools for the assessment of fees exemption in maternal health policies in Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali and Morocco. In Benin, I am responsible (in terms of data collection, data management and data analysis) for the work package devoted to the study of the effects of free c-section on local health systems.
