The Cultural and Creative Sector Advisory Panel features members from the performing arts, festivals and events, music, creative production, film and visual arts sectors along with representatives from the property sector, urban planning, architecture and creative space management. The panel is established to help set the pathway for the City of Sydney’s cultural infrastructure programs and will inform the sustainable recovery of Sydney’s creative and cultural industries.Panel members provide strategic advice on the state of their sectors, with a focus on addressing the loss of the creative workforce and floor space in Sydney, a critical issue exacerbated by the pandemic.

The Marketing and Audience Development Officer is responsible for the promotion of Gallery, Collection, Learning and Special Project programs. As a newly created role, my work encompasses the broad implementation of systems and procedures that to create and improve marketing and communications processes across the activities of UTS ART. Initiatives include streamlining direct communications and digital channels, developing key messaging and communications strategies, style and imaging guidelines, social media posting timelines, leveraging internal communications channels, as well as improving overall brand presence and expression across print and digital platforms.

As Web and Social Media Coordinator I had oversight across all of the Biennale of Sydney's digital and online marketing and communications output, including email newsletters, social media, ticketing and website. Relaunched in 2018 alongside the 21st Biennale of Sydney, SUPERPOSITION: Equilibrium & Engagement, I worked closely on the development of the Biennale of Sydney website, produced in partnership with Civilization, Seattle and Interaction Consortium, Sydney. This was a major international project that required excellent organisational and interpersonal stakeholder management skills, as well as creativity and attention to detail. I successfully implemented Splash, a brand new ticketing system developed in partnership with Splash, New York. Splash was introduced in order to manage the complex matrix of events associated with Biennale Opening Week. This was another international project that required complex stakeholder engagement and sensitive community management.

As Communications Coordinator, I focused on Artspace’s communications and publishing activities. I was responsible for driving an integrated communications strategy that connected stakeholders with Artspace’s artistic program through a range of interfaces including traditional media, publishing, brand identity, social media, publicity, marketing and the staging of events. In this role I delivered Artspace's new organisational website in 2015, conceived by Artspace's Executive and Curatorial teams and produced by Atlas Agency, Sydney. Over a year in development, this website is an innovative and user-driven platform that serves as both an archive of Artspace's over twenty-year history, as well as a fully-programmable creative and publishing platform.

Firstdraft

In my capacity as a Firstdraft Co-Director, I was responsible — in consultation with stakeholders and other Co-Directors — for the transformation of Firstdraft's marketing and communications strategy, and ensuring consistent public engagement with our exhibitions and programs. I directly initiated Firstdraft's most comprehensive engagement with digital and social media to date, during which time our online audience grew by up to 300% over two years across all platforms, culminating in the co-conception and development of the organisation's first major new website in three years. In 2014, Firstdraft relocated to the emerging creative precinct of Woolloomooloo — its first significant shift in twenty years — involving a complex program of change management in which I and my fellow Board members were directly engaged. Our renewed presence in Woolloomooloo asserted Firstdraft as one of Australia's preeminent artist-led initiatives.firstdraft.org.au
