Design Engineer
Current• Manage the design life cycle of work boat build projects, including the following aspects;o General arrangement optimisation and weight analysiso Stability analysis and reportingo Hull optimisation based on performance and stability datao Structural design in-line with contracted classification society, based on vessel's purpose and operating environmento Systems design in line with owner and class society requirements.o Producing and issuing drawings for class review.o Producing stability booklets and 3D renderings of the vessel upon completion.o Liaise with international shipyards to optimise build workflows, troubleshoot snags and prevent potential downtime.• Work with Dr Gunther Migeotte on various foil designs and their manufacture for aluminium high speed catamaran ('hysucats').• Carry out ad hoc FEA (finite element analysis) on crucial structures based on client and classification society requirements.• Experienced with the following work boats:o Steel and aluminium builds o 13m to 38m lengthso Displacement, semi-displacement and planing hullso Inland and sea going vessels
