Lead a research laboratory and team whose primary concentration and work was the development of novel and innovative pharmaceutical treatments for debilitating diseases, including Cancer, Neuropathic Pain, and Tuberculosis. Additionally, I have successfully mentored and aided the learning of 20 volunteers, students, and postdoctoral fellows.I have made significant scientific advances and contributions during my tenure in this position, including:• The discovery and development of a novel platform for targeted protein degradation.• Identification of novel inhibitors of HCN1 for the treatment of neuropathic pain.• The establishment of a medicinal chemistry effort to develop novel nucleoside analogs that are active against adenosine kinase and submission of a lead compound for preclinical tox studies.• The invention and development of a series of longer-lived fluorescent dyes that have better photophysical properties than nearly all commercially available materials.• The discovery and development of novel dextran-cyclodextrin conjugates for the treatment of Niemann-Pick type C (NPC) disease.• The development of analytical techniques that allow for near real-time detection of drug metabolism and intermediate metabolites of amino acid metabolism.Additionally, since 2006 I have, and continue to perform teaching activities and program Directorship roles within Weill Cornell Medicine that allow me to contribute to the learning and development of the up and coming scientific community. • Invented, patented, and developed a series of non-opioid anti-hyperalgesics for chronic neuropathic pain that provided the initial IP used to help launch this biopharmaceutical clinical company.

• Invented, patented, and developed a novel technology platform that delivered next-generation molecules for studies on directed protein degradation.• Helped secure over $1.5M in venture funding.

Under the tutelage of Samuel J. Danishefsky, I studied the synthesis of glycopeptides and their application as vaccines for cancer and HIV. Additionally, I developed key methodology that significantly advanced the field of glycoprotein synthesis.
