1. I have led research into online and distance learning that feeds into and impacts on program content and delivery across a range of disciplines at Northumbria as well as on conservation programs around the world. I have influenced University strategies, led in developing capacity and empowered others to deliver and foster collaboration through my institutional citizenship. The impact of my work has changed attitudes, opinions and approaches to online and distance learning across the university2. My charcoal chiller research engages with current global issues regarding energy consumption in a world faced with rising fuel costs and has potential cross-disciplinary applications. I have established a leading role in research into the cross-disciplinary impact of the legal frameworks governing contemporary art 3. I have led in securing a range of funding for Gallery North exhibitions and initiatives that have enhanced external engagement and generated research outputs. My appointment to co-ordinate the University Art Collection enables me to develop a cross-disciplinary hub for research, teaching, learning and external engagement that will foster collaboration, create new knowledge and change opinions and procedures across the cultural sector.4. I was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Council of Museums Conservation Committee (ICOM CC) at the Triennial Conference on Melbourne in recognition of my sustained leadership and contribution to conservation practice and education over twenty years enabling me to lead on strategic initiatives with global impact 5. I have led in establishing a partnership with the National Trust at Seaton Delaval that will foster cross-disciplinary immersive learning projects between Northumbria Academics and students, the National Trust and regional community groups such as BAIT that will change knowledge creation in higher education
