Note from the Co-Founder: In 1976 my father started his commercial, industrial and post construction cleaning company, Eldorado Cleaners Ltd; cleaning everything from McDonald Restaurants to Vic Tanning Gyms to a cement producing plant. In fact that contract with the cement plant has continued on for 47 years and its where I started to learn the family business and professional cleaning at 12 years of age. My father taught me the art of cleaning and I quickly learned that much like any trade in the construction world, cleaning is a trade to be mastered. As a previous Ministry of Labour inspector, I carried out workplace inspections to:• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations; and to • Ensure the workplace’s internal responsibility system was working.As a Ministry of Labour health and safety inspector, I would ensure employers, supervisors and workers were complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations along with the workplace violence and workplace harassment requirements.As an inspector, I performed over 13 years of general health and safety inspections of workplaces and/or investigated specific complaints related to safety, which included the investigation of critical injuries & death.Inspector's roles & responsibilities were to issue compliance orders that were in contraventions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act & Regulations, which may have resulted in the prosecution of an employer, supervisor or worker when contravention was found and/or if they have failed to comply with an order of an inspector, a director or the minister.My bilingual health and safety inspector portfolio ranged from the overseeing of corporate, private, public and governmental day to day construction project, to large stakeholders, parliamentary, inter-provincial bridges, light rails & tunnels construction projects, to public speaking, teaching and instructing.

During my transitional year plus period at the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities, between my time at Ontario Correctional Services and prior to my inspectors position with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, I had the opportunity to work as a Training Consultant in the construction division for the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities, where I attained great experiences and knowledge in dealing and managing labour relations portfolios, that included the apprenticeship program for both unionized and non-unionized trades, along with compulsory trades, where I sat on Unionized Local Apprenticeship Committees, including representing governmental functions at colleges and information sessions, where my training and skills in teaching prove to be fruitful. Although the timeline of experiences was short, it was a very valuable and educational experience in the diversification of acquired knowledge.
