Jean-Marc McLean, MBA is an expert in the Private Equity and hedge fund sector, currently Head of the Luxembourg Office for Elliott Investment Management.Prior to starting his current role, where he manages private equity deals and European local business operations for one of the most successful alternative investment companies in the world, his career spans over 20 years of international experience in the management, finance and accounting spheres.Based in Luxembourg, he was previously a Business Unit Director at Intertrust Group for five years, focusing on private equity, real estate investments and structured financing in North America; he was responsible for governance, risk management and compliance of shareholder structures, and accountable for AUM of over $8.5 billion. Before that, Jean-Marc McLean managed a multi-disciplinary team servicing global clients at Vistra, working with Fortune500 multinational corporations engaged in global expansion across the continents. His previous experience in North America started at GE Capital in Baltimore, aiding the Federal Emergency Management Agency in allocating resources in response to the Katrina-affected areas of New Orleans. He then progressed at Symmetra Design in Washington DC as an Operations Manager and Finance Manager, creating a strategic forecast and plan to maximise the company’s competitive positioning in the industry and securing multimillion-dollar contracts.Jean-Marc McLean holds a Master of Business Administration and a BS in International Business from the University of Maryland University College and R.H. Smith School of Business, certificates in Specialist Private Equity and Psychology, an ACCA IFRS Diploma and Certificate, and is currently preparing for Level I CAIA. He has a keen interest in sports, being a member of Queen’s Park Cricket Club in Trinidad & Tobago, and he has coached youth football in Luxembourg and the US. He speaks English, French, and basic Luxembourgish.
