I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education K-8, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and a Principal’s certificate K-8 and have completed my Educational Specialist degree in Leadership. With 4 years as a superintendent, 8 years of experience as a lead principal, 12 years of experience as a teacher with a focus on elementary grades 2-6, and over five years of senior retail store management, I am confident that I possess the skill set required to continue to build on the success of your district. My greatest strengths include: collaborative leadership, strategic planning, empowering educators to develop their leadership and instructional skills, knowledge and experience as an effective financial leader. Fostering strong working relationships with local and school communities and facilitating integration of initiatives designed to enhance the school environment has been a focus at each of the districts/schools I have led. At Couch School District, we have been able to double our cash reserves and increase our fund balance to 47% while accomplishing significant facility, curriculum and technology improvements. It has definitely been a challenging time to be a superintendent, but the students, staff and community make it all worth it. I am proud of the work that we have accomplished over the past 4 years and look forward to working with your district.  As a superintendent, I believe in providing an environment that allows people to share their ideas and place a high priority on being a good listener. High expectations are set for myself, my staff and students, and we hold each other to these expectations. While at Adrian, the elementary school was awarded the Gold Star award and The National Blue Ribbon nomination for 2 consecutive years of excellent performance ranking in the top 15% of the state in every tested area.  We achieved a 100% APR score and also received recognition for being a turn-around school in 2015. The staff went on to earn the National Blue Ribbon Award last year and rank in the top .5% of all schools in the country. While I changed districts in 2015 and became the Lower School leader for University Academy, we have started our path to excellence with record breaking scores in all content areas with gains as large as 42% over the previous year and we achieved a 100% APR score for the first time in the school’s history.  The right people in the right place…makes all the difference!
