Detached from ScalianProject ROM (Reduction and MultiPhysic Optimisation) – Industrial partners: Renault, ESI group http://www.irt-systemx.fr/en/project/rom/The task within this project was to develop technological and scientific tools aimed at improving the conception process of new cars with a focus on car crash simulation.• Development of a crash model reduction software that allowed the generation of approximated simulation results from existing ones. Calculation time was reduced from 15 hours to 10 minutes with less than 15% error. Julia• Continuous improvement of the crash model reduction software including the implementation of new mathematical models and optimization of the code for improving calculation time. • Evaluation of the needs of technical experts in crash simulation and car structure optimization to specify the functionalities and architecture of a collaborative dashboard aimed at improving the conception process.• Specification of a dashboard that provided easy access to the computation infrastructure and simulation models through a unique online interface. It allowed to automatically manage existing simulation results, launch new ones, and to define optimization problems. From this it generated an intuitive multi-criteria visualization for collaborative decision-making. A Node.js back end was developed to link the computer cluster, data storage and the dashboard. Node.js /Angular/C++Due to the versatility of the platform developed it was offered as a on the shelf solution for other projects in the firm. I was put in charge of its improvement and transfer. (Formation of the developers to use and improve the solution, modification of the platform to better fit other project’s needs).
