I am a Professor of Human Resource Management at Penn State University with a focus on recruiting, teams and leadership, executive and management development, and leveraging employee survey programs to enhance strategic execution and business performance. I am committed to helping organizations improve their effectiveness through their talent. My research is interdisciplinary and is focused on helping individuals, teams, and organizations to be more effective and successful. The primary content areas of my research have been work motivation, teams & leadership, and recruiting. I am honored to have had my research recognized in 2011 as being among the most influential in management and to have received the 2004 Cummings Scholar Award from the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management. I have published or presented over 50 papers and co-authored nine books, including Human Resource Management (2013), Strategic Staffing (2009, 2012, 2014), Organizational Behavior (2011, 2013), Managing Now (2008), and the five book Staffing Strategically series (2010) for the Society for Human Resource Management. I was also the founding co-editor of the HRM/OB book series for Business Expert Press.
