This position was part of an international business venture that I contributed to set-up while I was on assignment at the then Department of Revenue Canada with the help of colleagues that were looking for international exposures. All contacts with the Government of Madagascar were done through its Embassy in Ottawa. I did all the groundwork that led to the creation of a team assigned to developing the business relationship with Madagascar within Beltron. I negotiated the terms and conditions… Show more This position was part of an international business venture that I contributed to set-up while I was on assignment at the then Department of Revenue Canada with the help of colleagues that were looking for international exposures. All contacts with the Government of Madagascar were done through its Embassy in Ottawa. I did all the groundwork that led to the creation of a team assigned to developing the business relationship with Madagascar within Beltron. I negotiated the terms and conditions of the project team with Beltron senior management as well as the scope of the team’s business venture with the Government of Madagascar and its financial backers (e.g. World Bank). This project led to the disengagement of the Government of Madagascar from the telecommunication sector and the creation of the "Office Malagasy d'Études et de Regulation des Télécommunications (OMERT)". Very early in my involvement with the GST implementation team, I was exposed and assigned to managerial and supervision responsibilities. In addition, I was able through this position to adhere to a domestic and international network of high profile consultants in the National Capital Region to which I still tap in to date.
