I have built and managed a world class data collection to support economic research, policy analysis, and public usage. I have strategically built data resources to make work that otherwise couldn't be done possible. I've taken the initiative to make vast quantities of data easier for aspiring analysts to use, from large medical insurance claims databases to government labor force, population, and income surveys to healthcare cost reports and provider and drug registries. I've built geographic, drug, condition, and provider crosswalks to provide the link between differently coded data sources and across time. I've made it easier to know the distance between useful levels of Census geography. I've built systems to track hundreds of the top federal economic indicators and automate notification via email, web, Twitter, and RSS feeds. I've acted as liaison and primary contact between data users and government data providing agencies and their data, privacy, compliance, and data use agreement contractors, commercial data providers, government granting agencies and software companies building good relationships and preventing obstacles from arising.I've collaborated with executive leadership, research, grant and IT staff to and resolve data issues. I've written a data use agreement instruction manual and collaborated on an enterprise SOP. I've written and maintained over 165 data web pages and the 1,000+ programs and tens of thousands of datasets they contain. I've organized documentation augmenting source documentation with what's needed but not present in companion materials. I've provided IT, computing, research, archiving, and curation support.I've organized Software Carpentry and Boston Area SAS Users Group (BASUG) meetings to facilitate collegial education, training, networking, and professional development.
