This is a hybid position that involves working with authors and Sponsoring Editors/Publishers as a Developmental Editor on college-level textbooks; working as a Production Manager on college-level textbooks with both on- and off-shore production teams; and as a Freelance Permissions Specialist.

Oversaw all stages of production for college-level textbooks. Duties: maintain schedules; manage budgets; copyedit; art management; proofread; apply HTML tagging as required for archiving; and coordinate freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, designers, and offshore vendors. Abilities: high attention to detail; ability to follow, as well as provide written and verbal instructions; proofread; work within a team; quick learner; global sensibilities; flexibility; highly proficient in most PC and MAC applications (including: Frame, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, and K-4); with additional knowledge of web creation using Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver, XML, HTML, and JavaScript.

Electronically place text, photos and art to create college textbooks while meeting customers’ specifications. Requirements are: high attention to detail, follow written and verbal instructions, proofread, work within a team, flexibility, and creativity in relationship to page layout and design.

Sole designer of all advertisement flyers, in-store displays, brochures, and newspaper ads.
