Staying within Reach plc I was promoted to Telesales Group Account Manager with a team of 15 Telesales Executives. My duties here included training, coaching, managing business strategies, collating features both online and in publications, forecasting, recruiting staff, reporting year on year sales successes and challenges, 1-2-1s, co-ordinating sales awards and other general management duties.I was made redundant in February 2024 when the management of the Glasgow Sales Team was being re-allocated to Hull.

Each day, we connected businesses of various sizes with the candidates they needed to drive them forward using the total Trinity Mirror Group network. The Trinity Mirror portfolio included the Daily Record, Sunday Mail and a further 17 local publications plus www.dailyrecord.co.uk, www.scotcareers.co.uk, www.glasgowlive.co.uk and many more associated websites therefore my versatility had to be on point. At this point I had a team of 7 selling advertising across all platforms and publications. Responsible for a recruitment advertising team offering multi-media advertising opportunities across the whole of Scotland. My duties here include reporting on weekly forecasts, monthly figures, ensuring the efficient and targeted running of recruitment section including social media & digital aspects on a day to day basis. Streamlining and motivating the team to maximise all selling opportunities. Initiating campaigns and features within all 19 publications and relative websites. Ensuring team utilise the CRM system to its maximum potential. Setting KPIs and conducting PDRs, weekly management updates and all other manager responsibilities. Lead sourcing

During my time at the Herald and Evening Times I worked on many different sections within the advertising department from Travel through to Features. I started as a tele-sales executive then moved on to Field Sales and at the latter stages headed up the Motors section. As Key Account manager for all the major motor dealers I was involved in negotiations at all levels. I organised editorial content for the motors supplement, monitored pagination and ensured layouts and overall structure of the supplement was at the highest level. My remit was to cover all motors advertising within the Herald, Evening Times and Sunday Herald. I built up excellent working relationships with all my clients and still work with many of them to this day. I left the Herald to move on to bigger and better things at the Trinity Mirror Group as Recruitment Manager.
