I served the first part of my volunteer service in Malava, Kenya, where I taught English, Physical Education, and Creative Arts at a Primary School. I also assisted with other duties at the associated Children's Home. For the second part of my service, I worked as an Americorp Volunteer in Chicago, Illinois, where I was a GED instructor and Volunteer Coordinator.

I began working for the Florida House of Representative in February, 2007 as an Administrative Assistant. In August, 2007, I transferred to work as a Legislative Assistant for Representative David Simmons.As a Legislative Assistant, I researched, tracked and helped file all legislation for the Representative. I was responsible for managing and running District office and attending community events and briefings. I also handled the financial aspects of the office, which included managing two bank accounts, paying bills, and filing accurate quarterly financial reports.

Increased prime booths sold by 29%.• Served as a liaison between politicians and the community; coordinated with Access Osceola Television to film 50 political statements that reached all Bright House subscribers in Osceola County.• Planned, marketed, and obtained sponsorship for large-scale Chamber events.
