• Assists in the development and implementation of a range of livestock and communication projects in support of the directorates and Department’s objectives.• Liaises with and provides advice to internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of project outcomes.• Prepares and coordinates reports, submissions, briefings, correspondence and advice.• Undertakes a range of communication activities to support project and events. Including but not limited to; quarterly newsletter, collateral, project communication plans and media. • Monitors progress of projects, prepares progress reports and assists to address issues that will affect performance indicators and/or milestones.• Livestock communication lead for the tactical Agile Dry Season Response.

• Adhering to ESCAS and ASEL to ensure strict compliance with animal welfare standards, traceability requirements, and the overall ethical treatment of livestock.• Regularly monitoring the health and well-being of livestock throughout the feedlot and wharf drafting process. This involves conducting health assessments, observing behaviour, and promptly addressing any signs of illness or distress with a veterinarian.• Facilitating communication between different departments within the feedlot, ensuring clear and effective information flow.

• Planning, coordinating, and executing various events such as workshops, presentations and industry gatherings. This involves liaising with vendors, securing venues, managing logistics, and ensuring the smooth flow of the event.• Developing engaging and informative content across various social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to promote the collective's activities, share industry news and educate the audience about livestock-related topics.• Hosting and producing episodes for the Livestock Leaders podcast, which involved identifying relevant guests, conducting interviews, scripting content, editing, and publishing episodes.• Representing the Livestock Collective at various industry events, field days, and on radio. This involved delivering presentations, sharing insights, and effectively communicating the collective's mission, values, and initiatives to diverse audiences.• Developing clear and concise communication strategies, both written and verbal, to articulate The Livestock Collective's message effectively to stakeholders, partners, media, and the broader community.

• Preparation of various seed stock to ensure fungicide resistance and best chance of germination.• Sowing and harvesting to align with trial parameters and requirements. Carried out in both field and glasshouse environments.• Utilizing appropriate machinery and other techniques to separate grains from the harvested crop, ensuring minimal damage and maximum yield.• Removing debris, chaff, and other impurities from the grains through various cleaning processes while upholding workplace health and safety.• Utilizing NIR technology to analyse seed quality, moisture content, and other relevant parameters for accurate assessments as well as examining grains for black point (a fungal disease).• Data collection (NIR, black point, growth, etc.)
