Since graduating with a degree in interior design from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Dundee more than 30 years ago, I have amassed a wealth of experience in creating user-friendly, and aesthetically pleasing, commercial environments. I started my career designing bars and multiplex cinemas and moved on from the leisure industry to design corporate interiors for a range of high-profile clients. I was also involved in designing a pioneering care home which addressed the needs of people with dementia while prioritising excellence in design.Since 2014 I I have been a design director for c2: concepts in Scotland where I lead a team of designers and put together proposals for a wide range of prospective clients. As a leading design house, an important part of our focus is keeping abreast of developments in the industry and coming up with innovative responses to the changing world of work. I love doing free-hand drawings of potential designs for pitches and am passionate about investing in, and developing, our very talented team. My father, Alasdair Taylor, was an artist and this, combined with the fact that my mother, Annelise was Danish, heavily influences my approach to design culture. When not at work, I am to be found in the garden of my Scandi house. With six hives of 40,000 bees per hive, I’m passionate about my garden having carefully chosen plants which create an eco-haven for bees, butterflies and other wildlife.
