I began my career as staff illustrator at D&L Graphics in Stamford, CT. Then I moved to North Carolina and became the home goods illustrator for the Belk department stores. I illustrated furniture, china, silverware, towels, sheets, Cuisinarts and baby car seats for their print ads. I started freelancing, doing design and illustration. One of my first clients was The Fresh Market, just as they opened their first store in Greensboro, doing line art illos for their print ads and in-store collateral. A move to Florida brought more freelance illustration as well as museum shows for my fine art, and some time at Scripps Media, where I worked in advertising and freelanced for editorial. I've won 15 ADDYs for illustration and graphic design, exhibited in solo and group art shows in Florida, Connecticut and North Carolina, was the winner of MartinArts ArtsFest banner design 2001, and Best in Show at the Elliott Museum Annual Juried Exhibit in 2008. Currently I am the creative director for The Community Newspaper Project (http://communitynewspaperproject.org/), where I write and illustrate a weekly food column (FoodFriday). We have been publishing The Chestertown Spy since 2009. It is an excellent window on Kent County. We also produce The Talbot Spy, based in Easton, and The Cambridge Spy, about Cambridge, MD.I published an adult coloring book, In My Garden, with Ellie Claire Publishing, which is available on Amazon.
