With GLS Canada acquiring Rosenau Transport Limited in December 2021, my role as a senior developer became more of an integrator to transition the custom built software into a corporate library of applications.

Most applications on IBM i date back to the previous century. At Rosenau, I am involved with the redesign and rebuilding of critical solutions to benefit from the latest technologies and ensure maximum efficiency of operations and finance.

"La Société des manoirs" is a Housing Management Body for two seniors residences owned by the province of Alberta. This is a francophone non-profit organization, dedicated to the wellness and support of our elders, 60 years of age or more.Being appointed by the Board of directors as Chief Administrative Officer, I commit to:- implement all the acts, bylaws and rules pursuant to Seniors and Social Housing- supervise the two buildings in terms of maintenance, repair and improvements- administer the apartments by reviewing applications, sorting them, signing leases, inspecting at move-in time, collecting the rent, providing services and allowing smooth transitions when tenants move out. - ensure the 200 apartments are kept in good condition and are safe and comfortable for the tenants to live there. - lead the team of employees-communicate regularly with the minister, the board of directors , the employees and the tenants, by listening to their requests and needs, explaining my actions and providing reports on various projects- support and assist the elders to the best of my abilityThis is a challenging task with something unexpected happening everyday, but at the same time it is never boring and I really enjoy being the solution point. There is much to learn and to communicate, but it gives sense to my own life as I realize I am adding value to the lives of so many people. Dealing with a wide range of characters, especially elders who can be very demanding is challenging. Yet, I cannot imagine ignoring one single person, as their experiences extend far beyond mine and their stories always seem like a fascinating book. I feel like a librarian who would have to take care of living books.
