As a member of the dynamic legal team of MCB, one of the few investment- grade rated financial institutions in Africa (and the only commercial bank rated as such in the continent by Moody’s), I have had significant exposure to reserve based lending transactions, either on a bilateral basis or syndicated facilities, involving blue chip clients in the oil and gas sector, in connection oil and/ or gas fields situated in Africa – notably Nigeria, Egypt and Gabon. I have also gathered a rich experience in leverage buy out transactions, mergers & acquisitions and capital call- bridge finance, involving debt finance granted by the Bank to seasoned private equity investors (generally backed by development finance institutions as limited partners).
