Molecular Research: DNA and RNA extractions, DNA purification, genotyping, PC, RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, primer development, cloning, sequencing, and enzyme assays.Plant Pathology Research: Aseptic technique, single spore isolation, media preparation, plant pathogen storage and maintenance, inoculum preparation, precision phenotypingApplied Research: Industry experience in plant pathology working with soybean, wheat, cotton, and a variety of fungal pathogens. Plan, execute, and manage controlled environment experiments. Collect and present data from a variety of phenotyping assays. Design, implement, and manage greenhouse and field herbicide efficacy trials; winter wheat, spring wheat, canola, chickpeas, lentils, and corn associated with the Washington State University Weed Science Program. Experience includes screening resistant weeds such as jointed goatgrass, downy brome. Italian ryegrass, mayweed chamomile, wild oat, and Russian thistle. Conduct visual assessment, injury ratings. and soil sampling. Effectively communicate with local growers, scientists, and stakeholders both in the public sector and within industry.
