Learning about the area and speaking English on a professional level.Observing the kids and interacting with the kids.- Doing a project with one 5 year old boy unable to feel and express his own needs.Due to the various lengths the women would stay in the refuge this placement taught me to make relationships with the children and teenagers fast.Dealing with the children’s anger sadness mixed feelings about being (back) at the refuge. Trying to create a safe place for the children to relax and get a break. This placement did teach mere more then anything els to not judge people and support the choices each person make for themselves no matter my personal feelings about their decision.

Worked with children aged three to six.Worked very independently.Organised daily activities as well as planning future activities.Worked with four boys aged five where I dealt specifically with bullying problems.Showed leadership in the daily running of my area in the kinder garden.

My Main duties included giving observations of the infants at staff meetings every week and in guidance with my supervisor. We discussed the issues of the infants and made plans to help them improve their circumstances. Whether it was to remove the infant from home or get help in their home. The issues these infants had could, be parents who were suffering from alcoholism, being sick, having traumas and so on.

Worked mainly with children aged 5 months to one year.Worked as part of a team in a high stress area.Facilitating daily play activities with the children.This job taught me to work well as part of a team in a busy environment.I was recognised as being able to keep good control of the groups needs and the well being of the individual children in the group.
