I was very passionate about my role within the care profession. I feel that to keep my residents part of the community for as long as possible is so important. I find that mention dementia and it frightens people but to see our residents doing things like the Kings Lynn Fun Run shows that they are not scary! Lifestyles is so important to keep the elderly engaged wether in a home or in their own home it's so important they they are not forgotten.I am also very involved with fund raising for charities in the community with the help of my colleagues at work and friends and family, I have arranged a charity ball this will be my second year, entered runs, run fetes, written and performed in panto, along with much more. My job is fun and rewarding I would recommend it to anyone! Since retiring I have been very busy I run a befriending group for the elderly in the Woottons, near King's Lynn which we meet once a month. I organise a charity ball each year and have done so for the last four years raising money for local charities. As well as this I am enjoying my retirement! But I like to keep busy.Well just to update on my activities for the past year. It’s been nearly a year since I took over the running of the Parkinson’s Support Group in King’s Lynn, and have enjoyed it very much. Now I have found my feet and got to know the members better I am trying new activities and arranging speakers to make each meeting enjoyable and as interesting as I can.
