In addition to my main role within Van Oord UK Limited, I was also Health and Safety Lead for Team Van Oord Limited. Team Van Oord is a JV between Van Oord; Mackley Construction; Kier Construction and Royal HaskoningDHV, and was brought together to deliver the Work Packages under the Environment Agency’s National Contractor Framework (NCF) in 2002 and has since been successful in continuing through to the current WEM framework. I was also a key member of the TVO Bid Team for the Environment Agency Water and Environment Management Framework. My role within Van Oord UK Limited, a worldwide Marine Construction Company, involved me working in various departments over a period of 17 years. In 2004 I was asked to take on the role of QHSE Co-ordinator, following this in 2005 I gained my NEBOSH qualifications and also maintained a CPD record through my Technician membership within IOSH. I then went onto pass my NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
