Seismic interpreter for lead identification and prospect maturation in the Sergipe deepwater basin. Incorporated deepwater clastic stratigraphy background with 3D visualization techniques using spectral decomposition (Geoteric), color blending, and Paleoscan horizon-based interpretation. Screened the entire ~8000 km2 3D seismic area, identifying >30 potential leads, predominantly strat trap and combination traps. High-graded 10 of these and acted as lead interpreter for Steelhead lead. Completed probabilistic assessment, scrutinized seal risk, analyzed DHI/AVO/AB cross plots, and performed detailed seismic and stratigraphic interpretation of channel connections and erosion to explain potential hydrocarbon response.Evaluated basin play fairways and remaining play potential. Removed 100's of km2 from consideration for reservoir emplacement: Examined deepwater current deposition in the Paleozoic/Mesozoic to determine influence of ocean bottom current shale deposition (contourite formation) on reservoir or seal potential. Identified complex topography created by these currents that may assist with trap development.Tied drilled wells (12) to new 3D seismic data and determined expected seismic response of reservoir vs shales using FE analysis, seismic attributes, and quantitative + qualitative seismic analysis. Identified expected DHI response.

Designed integrative exploration workflows to facilitate the search for, identification, and characterization of clastic stratigraphic traps in deepwater EODs (primarily circum-Atlantic). Analyzed well penetrations, geophysics, basin history, and regional history to identify 12 diagnostic play and prospect observations valuable in predicting strat trap formation.Instructed 2-day interactive workshop to >100 geoscientists in Houston, London, and virtually, identifying potential locations to search for strat traps to help ExxonMobil drill additional discoveries in Guyana / Suriname and acquire exploration acreage in Brazil (Sergipe basin), Namibia, and Mauritania

Taught >80 geoscientists courses in seismic interpretation and visualization, structural interpretation, and well planning. Seismic interpreter and technology consultant to the Business Units. Using multiple vendor softwares (Paleoscan, Geoteric, VoxelGeo, ArcGIS, VIS, Petrel) and internal proprietary technologies to develop workflows and completed seismic interpretation, reservoir connectivity, and deepwater stratigraphic projects for Angola, Black Sea, and W Africa business units.

Detailed seismic stratigraphic mapping of 6 Danube River basin floor fans using using 3D and regional 2D seismic surveys. Used modern fan and recent sequences (last sea level lowstand, ~20,000 yrs ago) to create a model of fan architecture, specific to the Danube fan, then used this as an analog for EOD and sand distribution in ancient fans including 10 exploration targets. Coordinated with interdisciplinary teams in Houston and England to propose 5 drillwell location decisions.Showcased ability of geophysical software and techniques to aid in visualization of stratigraphic concepts: leveraged Paleoscan to flatten seismic data and review exploration leads in context with analog model built in first phase of project.

Seismic & stratigraphy specialist on software development team: partnered with developers to ensure that the software contained the functionalities needed for geological workflows; tested software for bugs and usability; assisted geologists and engineers in applying the software to their technical projects; designed workflow for 4D seismic analysis using EMsee. Advocated for software updates to enable mining operations workflows and provided dedicated support to 5 mine geologists as lead EMsee contact for Oil Sands Collaborative project (Kearl).Led 5-member team to 5 countries to train over 100 geologists and engineers how to use the software.

Learned fundamentals of FE work and petrophysics. Analyzed image logs (CBIL and FMI) from carbonate reservoir offshore Vietnam (Ca Voi Xanh).

Performed a probabilistic resource assessment for gas in the Frontier Formation in the Lake Ridge Unit at La Barge, Wyoming.

Mapped and developed volumetrics for oil and gas in place within a previously unmapped zone in the S Dagi structure. Integrated seismic interpretation with well logs, stratigraphy and EOD.

PhD in Geology. "Volcanology, structure, and stratigraphy of the central Sierra Nevada range front (California), Carson Pass to Sonora Pass." Field mapping of Tertiary volcanic rocks in the central Sierra Nevada, to assist in understanding the evolution of range front faults, paleoriver systems, and timing/geochemistry of volcanism.Instructed lab sections and assisted with course planning for Geologic Catastrophes, Plate Tectonics, Introductory Geology, Volcanology, Field Geology, and Statistics and Data Analysis classes.Planned Volcanology course field trips (x2) and assisted with summer field camp (3x for 2 professors). Participated in marine geophysics field cruise, R/V Nathaniel B Palmer, offshore New Zealand.
