Passion and creativity empower me. I am particularly drawn to experiential, non-dualistic approaches to discovering the strengths of individuals and institutions. My past professional and personal work in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) has strengthened the natural tendency in me to be an active listener, along with the desire to companion others toward emotional and spiritual healing. My CPE experience has facilitated a much deeper understanding of myself as well, bringing me greater peace with who I am and what I bring to a working team. My preferred career revolves around engaging others in spiritual seeking, helping others open pathways they may have overlooked, that bring them peace within themselves and in their relationships with others. My gifts in 'seeking to understand' have consistently earned me the reputation of being a positive team member with effective communication and collaborative skills. A great point of personal pride is my record of facilitating the engagement of youth and adults in community service in volunteer and professional settings for over 25 years. I currently find great meaning and self-fulfillment providing group educational sessions on the importance of a Higher Power in 12 step recovery and providing 1:1 spiritual advising to patients suffering with the disease of addiction. In addition to my desire to serve others, my leisure choices reflect a desire for health and wellness. I have completed three full marathons and several half marathons, and am vegetarian. Teaching Comparative World Religions for several years has shown me the value of regular meditation and spiritual growth. My understated self-confidence most often leads to the privileged place in my professional and personal circles of someone who is a trusted and highly valued companion.
