Directed key programs within identity-based resource center serving two key student communities: parenting students and students in recovery from substance use disorders; Supported retention and success of undergraduate and undergraduate students by advocating for inclusive policies, advising individual students face-to-face, and delivering exceptional, innovative programming and outreach such as recovery awareness trainings, breastfeeding seminars, recovery retreats, and community gatherings. Connected high-risk graduate and undergraduate students to appropriate resources such as academic counselors, financial aid, mental health, state social services, food and basic needs to ensure their academic and personal success; Founded and Chaired the Students with Dependents Task Force, bringing together over 40 campus partners to address the needs of parenting students by recommending policy and programmatic changes across the Division of Student Affairs. Key areas of focus included expanding childcare resources, financial wellness, priority enrollment, and pregnancy/lactation accommodations; Planned, coordinated and implemented over 10 annual large programs including: welcome receptions, holiday gift drive and $10K fundraising campaign, summer camp for parenting students and their families, graduation ceremony for parenting students, student leadership recovery retreat, year-end celebration for students in recovery; As inaugural director of the Collegiate Recovery Program, researched national best practices and national trends to implement innovative, campus-specific programs for students recovering from substance use disorders. Increased student participation in recovery programming by 300% in two and a half years; Managed program and student staffing budget of over $50,000 annually; Supervised 16 undergraduate student staff and two graduate level interns; Enhanced accessibility of web-based resources and strengthened user engagement across social media platforms.

Collaborate with program staff to implement programming serving non-traditional student populations; Advised students with food insecurity, distributed meal vouchers and referred to food resources such as UCLA Food Closet and SNAP; Created responsive programming based on student development theory and comprehensive needs assessment data; Researched and authored policy recommendation for priority enrollment access for parenting students; Developed and utilized budget tracking documents for two Program Directors; Managed Parenting Student Graduation in the Director’s absence.

Planned, implemented and assessed 3 programs during 2016 spring quarter that served the needs of student residents and their families; Developed ability to constructively engage others in complex diversity issues in on campus housing by shadowing Assistant Director and implementing programs. Synthesized needs assessment and satisfaction survey results to improve future programming for individuals from various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds; Assisted in planning long-range program improvement within the newest unit in Residential Life; Examined organizational structures of Residential Life staff, resident association officers, and housing policies to better understand the context of graduate and family housing dynamics.

Directed the inaugural College Success Program for the organization; created framework for the organization’s high school to college retention pipeline. Achieved key program goal by ensuring that 100% of students enrolled in college after high school. Managed all aspects of scholarship program, including the distribution of over $240,000 in scholarships over the course of five years. Evaluated academic progress of 20 scholarship recipients.Advised over 45 first-generation, low-income, high school students in after-school program. Created comprehensive individualized retention support program for college-enrolled alumni.Implemented weekly programming to provide guidance and developmental skills for success in college. Developed curriculum for weekly college prep workshops for high school seniors and juniors, and facilitated monthly workshops in Spanish for their parents. Organized annual College Boot Camp to orient rising college freshmen to resources available on their university campuses.
