My service to Providence Health & Services began March of 2004 as a communications coordinator. Within two years I was given the opportunity to advance and have served in internal and external communication manger roles since. I currently serve as senior communications manager at Providence Portland Medical Center. My responsibilities include:• Core member of executive team leading a 483-bed medical and cancer research center with 3,200 employees.• Identify, research and pitch media on hospital-based and clinical program (cancer, heart, women and children etc) news stories. • Media generation and support for major Providence events (Providence Bridge Pedal, Festival of Trees, etc).• Manage and facilitate incoming reporter requests.• Identify, research and produce hospital, caregiver and clinical program stories for Providence publications, intranet.• Strategically contribute to Providence social media platforms to enhance Providence media, marketing efforts or community events. • Monitor social media platforms for negative or positive posts, and react as needed.• Manage and write hospital internal communication.• Manage and write hospital executive leadership communication.• Support and facilitate employee engagement activities and communication.• Strategically plan and implement hospital crisis communication.• Lead hospital command center communications in all drills and actual events.• Support and assist in the implementation of regional marketing campaigns.• Manage neighborhood/community affairs in relation to the medical center.
