Led NDA/MAA matrix teams as Submission Manager in the planning and preparation of clinical and/or clinical pharmacology portions of multiple antiviral NDA and MAA dossiers, focusing in the antiviral area.  Authored Item 3, FDA briefing documents, efficacy and safety summaries (ISE, ISS, Written Summary), FDA 120-day safety updates, and full/abbreviated clinical study reports (Phase I-III), leading matrix teams and facilitating decision making on content of submission documents.

• Co-Project leader for Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) E1/E2 Drug Discovery. Co-lead drug discovery efforts for HPV E1/E2 small molecule inhibitors across the matrix. Responsible for the purification, characterization, and assay development for HPV helicase to enable drug discovery efforts, obtaining sources of eukaryotic DNA helicases to use in selectivity assays, and securing external consultants/collaborators to provide assistance for the helicase programs at Glaxo Wellcome.• Collaborator with University Faculty: Initiated two research collaboration efforts with University of Alabama at Birmingham for mechanism of HIV drug resistance studies and University of Kansas for drug discovery efforts in HIV, specifically NNRTI. As a result of these collaborations, published work on mechanism of resistance to 3TC, delivered an invited seminar to UAB Department of Microbiology, and published work on anti-HIV activity of pterocarpans with Univ of Kan.• Line Manager: Managed research technicians on day to day research objectives, experimental design, and results interpretation. Ensured research was appropriate for publication to enable career development.• Research Scientist: Developed and implemented an enzyme assay screening for inhibitors of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (RT), determined mechanism of action for compounds inhibiting HIV-1 RT using steady-state kinetics, and determined of mechanism of HIV-1 resistance to nucleoside analogues using steady-state and pre-steady-state kinetics. Developed a high throughput assay for HCV helicase to enable drug discovery efforts and characterized biochemical unwinding activity.
