My main instructional objective is to facilitate meaningful learning in a student-centered environment. I am motivated to be innovative in planning, to continually improve curriculum, and to deliver expert instruction. I develop multilayered projects that accurately reflect learning objectives and goals. In addition to refining and adapting assignments for individual classes, I administer ongoing classroom observation, formal and informal assessments, and meaningful feedback. I aim for instruction that addresses individual learning styles and is rooted in cooperative and inquiry-based learning models. I often incorporate informal speaking activities and formal presentation skills into classes. Moreover, I perpetually embrace and integrate technology with confidence and have applied the following in my classes: Blackboard, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, SafeAssign, Achieve3000, Turnitin, Google Classroom, Canvas, English learning software, interactive ESL websites, Library databases, PowerPoint, MS Office, Google Docs, Google Slides, Prezi, SmartBoard, Promethian Board, and Adobe. I am inspired by Jon Bergmann’s well-implemented videocasting approach for 21st century “digital natives” who connect best when engaged with cutting-edge classroom technology. Indeed, technology-based education continually transforms, and savvy educators continually employ modes of delivery and teaching strategies which rapidly increase ESL learners' proficiency and usage of their second language for everyday communication and for academic endeavors.
