About Jeanne Cook

I am on the hunt for what is next for me as I enter a new phase of "empty-nester-ville". I enjoyed nearly two decades focusing on working within the K-12 education space, where I helped raise: 1) over $7 Million for Orono Public Schools through the non-profit Orono Foundation for Education, 2) community awareness to support several $10M-$40M referendums through strategic local tax bonding and legislative planning 3) several major gifts for capital improvements between $1M-$5M dollars. (Accomplished all while also raising my four kids!) I retired from this position in October of 2019. In January, I consulted as Vice President of Business Strategy at PRISM Networking. This was a start-up software CRM platform company, that amongst several different markets, was focusing on the university student space. I lead a complete rebranding project, focus groups, software and platform APP development and business and marketing strategy. After many months of this wonderful opportunity, due to the pandemic, I decided to focus on where I was needed most: my family. Meanwhile, I have served for three years on the Dougherty Family College Board (affiliate of University of St. Thomas), and started on the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation Board in June 2021. Now I face the reality of being the head of an empty house and trying to figure out what next. My goal is to utilize my years of fundraising, special event, marketing and strategic business development experience in a professional environment for the benefit of an organization, which is looking for strategic growth, where I could also allow continue my personal and career growth. My Professional Skills Include:- Extensive experience in special event planning resulting in my ability to creatively implement gatherings from small personal meetings, to large professional events.- High level of computer proficiency that allows me to create and maximize donor database CRM systems, professional presentations, social media platforms, electronic newsletters; proficiency includes Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator programs. - Strong interpersonal skills which helps me develop, motivate and maintain on-going relationships with major donors, volunteers and staff.- Ability to “think outside the box,” plan long-term strategies as well as creative problem solve and "make things happen" quickly and effectively.- I have met all the qualifications required and been approved to take the Certified Fundraising Executive exam (CFRE), which I plan to complete by 1st quarter 2022.

The ongoing focus is to connect community, parents, administrators and alums to "raise funds for today's needs and tomorrow's dreams" for Orono Public Schools. During my tenure as volunteer, board member, and Director, my achievements as part of the team included: - Focused on stewardship retention through calling campaigns, gratitude events, 1:1 engagements, and larger VIP events.- Managed constituent database through Raiser’s Edge CRM system.- Managed constituent database through Raiser’s Edge CRM system.- Managed constituent database through Raiser’s Edge CRM system.- Raised nearly $7 Million dollars in over 15 years for the Annual Fund, Excellence Funds, and Endowment Funds.- Rebranded the organization from the Orono Alliance to the Orono Foundation for Education.- Developed a multi-year strategic plan for the Orono Foundation, which included significant advances in developing more dynamic funding streams, as well as donor engagement and retention priorities. - Developed a strategy to engage alumni through creating the Orono Alumni Association, which also recognizes Distinguished Alumni and Promising Alumni. - Created an annual fundraising event that sells out at over 400 tickets and typically raises over $300,000 through sponsorships, fund-a-need, and other key event elements.- Established a campaign to build the Endowment Fund to over $1 Million.- Created strategy alignment with the Superintendent and other school district leadership to create a "Memorandum of Understanding" as well as developed targeted areas of support through stewarship. - Developed marketing and communications and stewardship strategies for donors at different giving levels and giving cycles.
