This amazing new role for me is right up my alley. I get to influence decisions at all levels of the organization, and be part of an entrepreneurial company that celebrates who I am and how I work. I will begin teaching elementary music in Junction City in August of 2024. Westwood Elementary is an amazing school that has a FULL classroom set of Orff instruments, African Drums, Ukuleles AND Boomwhackers. I am excited to spread my wings musically with a new age group, and a classroom that is focused on skill building and experiential music making.

As the choir director at Alcott Middle School, I was responsible for directing 7th and 8th grade choirs and teaching 6th grade general music. I also taught a 6th grade honor choir before school. My first year, I increased the enrollment from under 30 to over 100. In the years to follow, the program regularly had over 200 children participating. I directed/assistant directed 3 full scale musicals, and annually had impressive numbers of students make regional and state choirs. As the choir director at Abilene High School, I was responsible for directing two non-auditioned mixed choirs, two auditioned women's choirs, an auditioned chamber choir and the AMS 8th grade choir. While I was there, Abilene students went from having little to no representation in state and regional choirs, to an impressive number of students, particularly at the regional level. We also regularly received superior ratings at contest.
