It's a new day in Cloud Computing at Microsoft.Azure VMware Solutions break the paradigm in Azure. You can now migrate VMs directly from your environment, to Azure, landing on bare-metal, purpose built, hyper-converged dedicated nodes to run your VMware VMs in Azure, exactly as they are today in the hypervisor you know and love: VMware! You no longer must convert the systems to Azure IaaS, or PaaS, in order to benefit from the advantages of Azure Cloud Computing. Our AVS nodes are super fast, highly performant, and affordable. This solution enables SSO with Azure Active Directory, and the AVS environment qualifies for no cost Extended Security Updates for Windows Server and SQL Server 2008 and 08 r2, allowing you to spend your IT budget on other projects, if you desire. Microsoft runs on Trust. So, we trust the VMware Administrators to elevate their own privileges on the AVS nodes to allow for OS level installations of the 3rd party tools and solutions you use on premesis today. For use in migration, consolidation, VDI, and DR scenarios, this new offering may be exactly what you need when facing contract expiry or hardware/software refresh dates. As a Director of Business Development, in the newly created Market Maker team (nestled within the world wide hosting and managed service provider partner organization at Microsoft), my responsibility was to assist some of our very largest partners as they renew or begin a new relationship with Microsoft. As companies the world over digitally transform, they are choosing partners who can assist in the evaluation, recommendation, selection, deployment, management, and reporting on the newest technology platforms, tools and systems.
