“94% of problems in business are systems driven” (Deming). Facing this challenge head-on, I define, align, and harness systems to accelerate mission and unleash value for organizations and those they serve. I catalyze and define paths to sustainable growth, whether that entails optimization, innovation or full reinvention. What makes me tick?I’m a versatile business and technology strategist with a knack for recognizing patterns & undiscovered possibilities and spearheading paths to value -- cutting through complexity and ambiguity, at speed, at scale. To me, the world is made up of interconnected systems, spanning people, process, tech and data. I synthesize situations against that backdrop, envision what might be, transform ideas to strategy + solutions, and catalyze the path to maximum value. I'm all-in, tenaciously building with purpose, and changing the game in relevant and valuable ways. -- and ultimately moving organizations where they need to go.What do I bring to your table?I’ve driven breakthrough business value (increased revenue; improved cost, quality and experience; expanded market and global profile; transformed org capabilities) via practical innovations across diverse domains and disciplines, including healthcare, manufacturing; government; systems & software engineering; process engineering & automation; analytics; and business strategy.Recognized for my work in mission-driven performance and creator of the “FAST Goals”(TM) methodology, I have mobilized large, multi-disciplinary teams and multiple $20M-$40M+ situations – spanning clean sheet and evolutionary design; incremental and transformational change, new and established business environments; legacy and new technology. On personal notes: I hold a deep appreciation for Pittsburgh’s cultural diversity and rich traditions, music, dance and art. And, I have a longstanding passion for nature and animals, currently Founder of a community-oriented dog companion visit business (Paws For A Visit) and aspiring to someday be actively involved with wildlife conservation and animal protection.#BusinessStrategy #PracticalInnovation #Strategy #Systems #SystemsThinking #SystemsInnovation#FASTGoalsMethodology #StrategyAlignment #BetterThanOKRsFAST Goals(TM) and "Better Than OKRs"(TM) are trademarks of Jeannine Siviy

Group Director, Ims Data OperationsManagement Science Associates, Inc. Dec 2013 - Apr 2015Pittsburgh, Pa, UsMy focus at MSA was evolving Operations (~150 personnel) into a highly disciplined, high performance team - realizing Operational Excellence, while replatforming to "Big Data" tools and infrastructure. We established comprehensive and balanced performance targets -- supplementing our near-100% on-time delivery track record with data integrity, rework reduction, and process capability (and capacity) optimization objectives. To enable this, we implemented a strategic framework (mission/vision, aligned org, goals, measures) using FAST Goals(TM) methodology (and a customized "Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory" styled training simulation); decision, process and analytics frameworks, with end-to-end process and data maps; and an enhanced employee participation and engagement model. -
Executive Director, Transformational Technology - Technology Development CenterUpmc Enterprises Sep 2012 - Jun 2013Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, UsIn this role, I worked with the Office of the Chief Medical and Scientific Officer to align emerging technologies with strategies for new models of care -- leading to both market value and organizational transformation. My most significant contribution was spearheading a market-differentiated patient-facing telemedicine product on an accelerated timetable, for significant projected savings and revenue. After collaborating with multi-disciplinary workgroups to create business and product models, I catalyzed business and technical teams to develop and execute roadmaps and project plans. Additionally: Using a specially adapted collaboration method, we had two solutions underway to address challenges in clinical effectiveness and patient outcomes. The solutions were comprehensive, spanning clinical process (pathways), "big data” analytics and modeling, and decision support. -
Principal Consultant (Highmark)Sdlc Partners, L.P. Mar 2011 - Sep 2012Pittsburgh, Pa, UsIn a return to industry, my responsibility was to manage an IT project portfolio for a health insurance client, Highmark, to achieve significant operational efficiency improvements. We successfully delivered multiple releases for $10.6M of the portfolio, with another $10M in releases in flight. Our team was large, multi-organizational and global: about 150 members from the client and two consultancies, with a significant portion of the team overseas. The project involved custom code and configured systems (Pega) for business process automation. We accomplished our goals through sound judgment, critical thinking, and the full array of project management and software/systems development best practices. -
Manager, Strategic Technology TransitionSoftware Engineering Institute Oct 2008 - Mar 2011Pittsburgh, Pa, UsIn this role, I launched a team charged with developing business analytics and product/market strategies to increase our technology transition. Within our first year, we delivered actionable results for multiple technology teams within the SEI.Our initial work focused on improving the conversion of initial customer contacts to appropriate engagement, for architecture technologies. Based on primary market data, we created a value-based segmentation model and codified an engagement model, spanning “do it yourself-ers” and those seeking consulting expertise. Positioning tactics followed, with conversion rates exceeding target. We extended the base model to CMMI® SVC, yielding increased pipeline leads. -
Deputy Director, Dynamic Systems ProgramSoftware Engineering Institute Aug 2007 - Sep 2008Pittsburgh, Pa, UsIn this newly created position, I focused on technology leadership. The high point of this phase of my SEI career was the formal launch of a new area of research: “Process Improvement in Multi-model Environments.” This coalesced several years of research about harmonizing multiple improvement models (such as Six Sigma, CMMI, ITIL, SOX) to efficiently achieve performance-driven improvement. Through new publications, a well-attended public workshop, and numerous global presentations, we secured “no strings” research funding and rallied global community engagement. Additional highlight: Extending the Assurance Initiative launched in my previous role, colleagues and I developed cross-organization influence maps and a systems dynamic model to characterize overall Assurance supply chain interrelationships. We won Best Paper at the 2009 IEEE Systems Engineering Conference, and galvanized additional research. -
Technical Advisor To The Director And CeoSoftware Engineering Institute Mar 2005 - Jul 2007Pittsburgh, Pa, UsIn this new role, I directly supported CEO- and COO- level decisions related to research investments, global technology influence, and operations. My capstone project was securing $3M/year in new research investment by our government sponsor. I led three teams through successful business case assessment of three alternatives. Our due diligence covered opportunity definition, initial solution scope, projected internal/external benefits, and a high level multi-year roadmap for investments and deliverables. Our sponsors agreed with our recommendation to invest in Software Assurance and created a new multi-year initiative. -
Sr. Member Of The Technical StaffSoftware Engineering Institute Feb 2001 - Mar 2005Pittsburgh, Pa, UsIn this role, I applied my Kodak practical experience for the broader software and systems engineering world. One of my main roles was to clarify relationships between CMMI® and Six Sigma. Via specially funded research, I partnered with internal and external stakeholders and affirmed that Six Sigma could accelerate the implementation of CMMI®. This was the birth of work in “performance driven improvement” and “multi-model improvement” and the beginning of longstanding relationships with many external collaborators. I also held consulting responsibilities. My largest engagement was to guide an Air Force client to achieve CMMI® Level 5 – the first DoD aviation organization to do so! -

Sr. EngineerEastman Kodak Company Mar 1989 - Jan 2001Rochester, New York, UsMy experience at Kodak was in global capital projects-- controls systems engineering (SCADA, DCS, PLC, systems integration, etc), process engineering & automation, and project management -- aimed at business objectives such as cost/reliability improvements, product quality, and market expansion.Projects varied in size and scope: small and large; simple and complex; with the largest, most complex being the $17M controls system within a $290M greenfield facility in China. There was always a lot of analytics intertwined, including multiple predictive models prior to and as part of my Six Sigma work.Kodak is where I cut my teeth as an engineer, as an engineering/project manager and as a business leader, beginning to build my business acuity and my appreciation for delivering bottom line value for customers and the business. My Kodak experience provided a solid foundation for everything else that I have done. -
