About Jean Loo

A tenacious storyteller who enjoys bringing people together and is passionate about content for social change, I am a self-starter whose mission is to contribute to a more inclusive Singapore. I enjoy applying creativity to problem-solve and learn best through experience and cultivating relationships across diverse networks. At Rainbow Centre, I am part of the management team and lead the Advocacy and Community Engagement (ACE) work, which amplifies our mission of building inclusive communities. The breadth of my work includes strategic, external and internal communications, partnership and volunteer development, fundraising, donor and grant management and brand management. As chairman of our recreation club, I also lead staff engagement efforts for a 750-strong workforce, including the annual Staff Day and monthly wellness efforts. From 2022 – 2024, I had a stretch role overseeing stint WOW!, a pilot talent development programme and OOSH, our student care centres, which enriched my appreciation of the intricacies of ground operations. On the side, I am pursuing a part time Master of Social Work at National University of Singapore and advise the work of Superhero Me, an inclusive arts movement I co-founded and love deeply. I also serve on the Panel of Advisors to the Youth Court and am a member of the Child Protective Service’s Adoption Selection Committee. Recently, I was part of the 2023 National Council of Social Services 40-Under-40 programme for promising social service leaders. From 2016 – 2021, I was co-lead of Early Childhood Development at Lien Foundation, where I managed multidisciplinary projects between partners in social services, education and health. I started my journey as a community artist and photojournalist and ran a content studio, Logue, for close to a decade. For my commitment to inclusion through the arts, I was conferred the Singapore Youth Award 2018, Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni Award 2019 and Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information Impact Award 2019.
