Jean Skipper is a mixed media artist, gallery owner, teacher, and retreat host from Vass, North Carolina by way of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She’s been working and teaching as a full time artist since 2005. For five years, she owned Artist Alley, a gallery in Southern Pines, North Carlolina, and she’s also one of the founders and co-owners of ReMe Retreats. Her current gallery, ARTworks Vass, will celebrate its 5th anniversary with an expansion that will double its size in 2022.In her work, Jean incorporates solid copper, sterling silver, found objects, and other treasures into her sentimental and whimsical one-of-a-kind jewelry and assemblages. She also rekindled her love of Pottery, and is the midst of building a Membership Based Pottery Studio at ARTworks Vass.Jean's enthusiasm for her craft and art marketing is contagious; her experience is extensive; her style is easy-going; and her genuine concern for others encourages them to reach for their dreams.
