Bootstrapped and grew the engineering team. Drove architecture, infrastructure, and engineering practices. On top of a high-throughput, fully asynchronous, reactive Scala stack (Play Framework, Akka for location-transparent, actor-based concurrency), we've tuned natural language processing feature extraction, and trained our classifier over 3 million questions, to instantly determine what customers are asking about, and match their questions to the right specialists. Our communication platform interoperates across Android, iOS apps and all major browsers, leveraging WebRTC and WebSocket signaling. Porch acquired Fountain on October 29th, 2015: congratulations to the entire team!Fountain connects customers stuck on a problem with the professionals most qualified to assist them in real-time. Ask anything, and get immediate one-one help from subject-matter specialists, via texting or video call.

As One Kings Lane’s Chief Product + Technology Officer, I drove technical and product strategy, and oversaw a 60-strong engineering, design, and product team. With a firm bias toward a mobile-first experience, I recruited One Kings Lane's first-ever full-time iOS engineering team, delivering the company's first iPad and iPhone application in early 2013. I also spun up the company's data engineering and data science teams, focused on warehousing exhaustive customer behavior and inventory details, enabling fine-grained analytics and predictive modeling.

I helped the company with early positioning, pitch, and fundraising. FieldWire is an enterprise focused task management platform for mobile teams (think of it as Jira for the physical world), streamlining field operations. Formation 8 led Fieldwire's $6.6m Series A in October 2015.

I ran Mint's software development team.

I ran Mint's engineering team, delivering our award-winning user experience on browsers, iOS, and Android. Earlier, I founded Mint's data aggregation division. We sold Activeweave to TwelveFold Media in April 2008. The acquisition allowed TwelveFold to beef up its technology, and analyze relevance and influence in blogs and social media, to power its ad network using conversation-specific influence and ultimately improve ad engagement and performance.At TwelveFold, I drove the company's core technical vision, strategy, and architecture. I also ran TwelveFold's engineering team, developed and delivered a family of search, web analysis, and advertising solutions.TwelveFold Media unlocks the power of conversations and influence, with applications that help players across the social media ecosystem—businesses, online publishers and the bloggers contributing to influential communities— reap the rewards and engage its constituents.

Activeweave, funded by angel investors and VCs including Esther Dyson and Eric di Benedetto, was acquired in April 2008 by TwelveFold Media.I co-founded the company, co-led our fundraising efforts, co-invented our patents, and drove our overall technical vision and strategy. As CTO, I led architecture, design, and implementation. I built, scaled, ran the company and its infrastructure from inception to over 10 million daily hits.Activeweave made two products: Stickis and BlogRovR. Both helped create the participatory web, enabling individuals to share perspective and commentary among their social groups. BlogRovR, one of Firefox's recommended add-ons, garnered over 300,000 registered users. It let them bring their favorite bloggers along as they browsed: our personalized, on-the-fly contextual relevance engine fetched stories related to the current page, right into the browser.
