Westminster Communities Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, which solely exists to enhance the lives of the residents and team members of Westminster Communities of Florida. The Foundation secures external funding and provides grants to each of Westminster's 22 retirement communities located throughout Florida.As the VP of Philanthropy, I am charged with the overall strategy and program development for the Foundation, executing our fundraising and grant-making duties, and leading an eight-person team to achieve our organizational goals.

My role with the UCF Foundation (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization) was to provide executive-level leadership and management to the deans and advancement professionals within all 13 of the University's colleges, our special initiatives, and the Athletics fundraising program. I served on the Foundation's executive committee, which reports to the CEO. In addition to leading colleges and unit advancement teams, for an 18-month interim period I oversaw the central-based annual giving and alumni engagement department. I managed a portfolio of principal and board-level prospects, and served on several Foundation and University-wide committees such as the Foundation Gift Acceptance Committee and the University Facilities Budget Committee.On June 30, 2019, the UCF Foundation successfully closed a comprehensive campaign titled IGNITE: The Campaign for UCF. We secured $531.5 million during this initiative. The colleges and units I oversaw accounted for more than $400 million of the $500 million goal. The University of Central Florida, founded in 1963, is one of the largest universities in the nation. UCF and its 13 colleges provide opportunities to 72,000 students on UCF's main campus, hospitality campus, health sciences campus.

School Of Law

I led Duke Law School's Alumni and Development Office. Our team of fifteen employees managed the internal and external alumni-related contacts for the Law School. Generally, the office handled a portfolio of constituent development programs including major/principal gift fundraising, a robust annual giving program involving alumni, friends and parents, stewardship, alumni relations, prospect/data management, and a range of advancement services. I also lead and managed the Law School's portion of Duke University's $3.25 billion Duke Forward Campaign. This seven-year campaign began in 2010 and concluded in June 2017. Duke closed this campaign having raised $3.85 billion. At the Law School, my team was successful in surpassing our $85 million goal, ending the campaign at $132.4 million (156% of goal). These commitments were focused on creating new and enhancing existing academic programs, establishing eleven new faculty positions, and adding 75 new scholarship and fellowship funds to benefit the school's students.

College Of Law

In this role, I managed a five person office who handled a full advancement operation portfolio -- major gift development, annual giving programs, volunteer management, alumni relations programming, stewardship, etc... I planned and executed various components of a $50 million campaign for the Law School, which focused on faculty positions, scholarships, and academic program support. The campaign was a component of the University’s highly successful Brilliant Futures Campaign, which raised $2.43 billion toward a $2.25 billion goal. The campaign was in the second year of the public phase when I accepted an associate dean position at Duke University. The Law School’s portion of the campaign was also successful, achieving its goal within the established timeframe.

During my tenure at the University of Illinois Foundation, I worked in the Research and Analytics Department where I conducted research on individuals, corporations and foundations to identify opportunities to tie philanthropic interests with university opportunities.During my time at the University of Illinois College of Law, I started in the annual giving department and worked various positions until assuming the Assistant Dean position.
