As a pioneering investor in sustainability and education initiatives, I get most jazzed about brilliantly innovative organizations that seek to benefit society with a strong social mission at their core. I founded two venture firms to support visionary entrepreneurs in building companies, such as Seventh Generation, Banyan Water, Revolution Foods, Plum Organics, Numi Tea, Panorama Education, and PresenceLearning. In addition, I have led environmental movements creating a powerful, thoughtful local watershed association in Plymouth, MA preserving critical habitat from potentially onerous development. I have also served on numerous not-for-profit boards, including The Board of Trustees of Middlebury College and the Monterey Institute for International Studies. Giving back to those less fortunate and leveling the playing field by providing access to opportunities is at the core of my work. Through activism, philanthropy, and private sector work, I have taken leadership positions and had a meaningful impact.
