About Jedd Stojakovic
From the moment I changed bachelors degree (Automotive to Mining Engineering), I knew that I started down the path of having a career that could fulfil my ‘work life’ aspirations and provide me with a work environment in which I knew I could succeed. Since being accepted into the BHP Billiton graduate program (2012) I have taken great strides in achieving my goal of becoming a COMPLETE mining engineer. Each day, my underlying passion for mechanical engineering directly fuels my drive to strategically plan and optimise the excavation of Australia's coal resources in a bid to best utilise the impressive mining equipment that we have at our disposal.Automation is the future of mining. I feel that we can learn from the mechanical engineering ‘production line’ mentality and really push the boundaries of performance of mines sites that are already operating at a high level. I hope to use my previous mine planning, mine control & leadership experience to strive for better quality and achievable mine planning outputs.I would consider myself a person who is passionate about their job and love having the opportunity pass on experiences (to students) that I have had through my short working career. To quote a friend of mine ‘I genuinely love what I do and am more than happy to connect with and talk to anyone that shares my interests. Even if you don't, I'm happy to talk...’ – Tom Juric.

Coal Iroc+ - Fms Specialist (Project Delivery Lead)
My core duty as an FMS Specialist is to deliver value adding projects related to ‘best practice’ use of BMA’s Fleet Management Systems. Similar to the Integrated Control Specialist role, key skills required are Stake Holder Engagement & Project Management. This was directly applied via my involvement in AHX projects at DNM & GRM. The AHX Project is a proficiency style project in which we identify, record & embed ‘best practice’ behaviours and routines in a bid to raise the ‘minimum standard’ of mine control. Besides the continuous improvement aspects of my role I was also supporting the Application of BMA’s use of the BHP Global Specification related to the Time Usage Model. I have also led the implementation and management on reporting of one of BMA’s primary Life Saving Rules in Positive Communication application.
Coal Iroc+ - Integrated Control Specialist - Mine Control
• Govern, own and drive the L2 process ensuring the right conversations and escalations are being driven in terms of productivity and understanding the key drivers and levers within control of IROC.• Be the conduit between Mine Control Execution and A&I / Data & Reporting to deliver the reporting platforms to drive production efficiencies.• Analysis of production reports to ensure our focus remains on the value drivers and those within control of IROC.
Senior Mining Engineer - 3 Month Scheduler
The purpose of the BHP Coal 3 Month Scheduler is to optimise and provide confidence in the rolling three (3) month outlook to the business and is the key deliverable for enabling the Short Range Forecast (SRF).The 3 Month scheduling process is applicable to all active BHP coal sites, with mine scheduling responsible in delivering the plan to the operational teams to execute (ongoing compliance to plan feedback is a key enabler to monitoring variation). The key stakeholders of the process include:* Mine Scheduling; * Operations Production; * Resource Engineering – in particular, Tactical Scheduling; and * Integrated Operations. The intent of the deliverables from this process are to: * Provide simultaneous schedule of core mining and in-pit activities; * Provide direction for timing of enabling activities. * Provide equipment demand forecast; * Provide coal production forecast by type to integrated operations; * Identify and communicate key risks in the three (3) month plan to the business; and * Reconcile and validate plan to plan compliance. The outputs from this process form a very well rounded communication style utilising GANTT charts (Deswik & Spry), TUM outputs (Helix), Physical reports (Excel) and SRF Presentations (PowePoint). It is important to note that the 3 Month Schedule forms a part of the SRF process, with the outputs contributing to generating the full SRF.
Coal Planning Engineer
As a Coal Planner my main task is to safely forecast the mining & beneficiation strategiy of in-pit coal to TLO’s whilst optimising for value (revenue, volume & cost). My planning horizon is Week+1 to 3 months.Coal planning is a discrete discipline linking expertise from marketing, stripping, geology, processing, coal mining & reconciliation. As such, coal planners are best placed to optimise value by influencing mining, beneficiation & product type strategies.
Week 0-2 Scheduler - Mine Planning
Week 0-2 Schedule (Overburden, Coal, Drilling, Blasting & Haulage), Organise and facilitate Rough Cut & Lock In planning meetings, Compile and schedule enabling activities for Week 0 pit services team, Liaise with Production Co-ordinators to ensure that Week 0 priorities & critical paths are met
