WHO I AMI'm a second year Deakin University student who is highly involved in disability support and providing care to families in need. My name is Jedidiah Morrison and I am passionate about helping others. MY VISIONI believe every person has the right to a high quality of life, opportunities and normality, regardless of their mental capacity or physical disabilities. I want to lay down my life, using the gifts and talents I have been provided with to serve others and make this vision a reality. MY GOALSI am constantly trying to better myself in order to provide my clients and their families with expert care. I am highly motivated to this goal, and know that every effort I make is benefiting entire families quality of life. MY PASTMy time spent on an outback sheep station helped to teach me man invaluable lessons, such as the value of hard, tiring work and how to care for people, stock and equipment to make work easy, pleasurable and enjoyable. It also taught me the value of human relationships, as I was isolated for nearly two years from what most people would consider 'normal'. I don't want any other person to feel that isolation I experienced, and it saddens me that even in large cities many people, especially those with disabilities, can feel alone and abandoned. MY FUTURE I want to continue becoming more involved in support services. I love this work, the people I work with and all of my clients. I plan to use my leadership and interpersonal relating skills to educate others so that more people will be moved to have really positive relationships with those with disabilities.
