As a Staff Geologist with Leighton Consulting, Inc. and Leighton & Associates, Inc. I have had vast opportunities working with both Professional Geologists and Professional Engineers on projects involving Fault Trenching, Soil Sampling, Field Density Testing of Soil Compaction, Groundwater Cleanup at sites. In the office I am able to refine my geologic skills by observing samples taken in the field, analyzing data recorded scrutinizingly well from the field, generation of cross-sections, well diagrams, and boring logs, which all ties into the bigger picture of report production. I have also had many opportunities to review large maps for massive grading jobs, including Bulk Grading, Rough Grading, and Fine Grading.

North Cascades National Park

As per Profile Picture, my duties as an SCA intern for North Cascades National Park included hiking off trails to create a map of the non-native species Bromus tectorum, or cheatgrass, a noxious weed that has been widespread in the National Park after a 2005 wildfire. Other duties included hand-pulling of other non-native plants and spreading public awareness of the non-native plants threatening the National Park.
