Until, August-2018, as a Senior Trade Finance Officer, my responsibilities were:• Processes LC's (Local & Foreign) and their amendment applications within approved limits. Negotiation of Documents under LC, Collections and Discounting.• Processes LG's (Local & Foreign) and their amendments. Checking and ensuring the correctness of guarantee as well as counter guarantee texts. Correspondence with clients and branch/banks.• Promissory Note Discounting, Diarizing the due/maturity dates and to ensure that P/Notes are settled on due/maturity dates.• Verify validity, authority and completeness of all documents /transaction requests prior to processing. Ensure compliance with terms and conditions before authorizing applications for processing. • Ensure excellent level of customer service and satisfaction through efficient transaction processing. Assisting customer/clients in regard to their queries related to LC's & LG's etc.• Ensure that the necessary documents properly executed are obtained from customers and securely held. • Ensure that payments are made correctly and in a timely manner on LC negotiations and documents under collections. This requires knowledge and trained skills in SWIFT Messages, especially related to MT 100,200 & 700 Series thoroughly. • Ensure that the returns, statistics and other reports required by the CBK, Accounts, Treasury and the Management are submitted in an accurate and timely manner. • Ensure that the necessary records, registers and documents are maintained as per the requirements of the Bank.
