Laboratory Technician
Current•Prepare and provide apparatus, equipment and other teaching materials as requested by teachers which include chemicals, biological material, equipment, models, and disposable material.•Conduct various trial experiment and data collection for Physics, Chemistry and Biology experiments prior to teaching•Assist teachers and students during experiment.•Set up and demonstrate experiments to students.•Collect and remove equipment, chemical also teaching material once experiment completed, including safely disposing of waste and washing-up apparatus.•Inspect for faulty and damaged equipment, reporting to the Science Teacher and/or Head of Department, and repair or replace the equipment, if possible.•Calibrate equipment according to the guidelines provided.•Regularly discuss with teachers on laboratory activities that may support targeted learning outcome.•Provide an up to date record of inventory levels/ stock check of all chemicals, disposable materials, glassware and other apparatus.•Kept an up to date store of standard stock solutions and refill reagent bottles as required.•Obtain/collect/take delivery of non-living materials or specimens for dissection and experiments.•Purchase equipment/chemicals for the laboratory.•Liaise with education professionals from university, colleges and science technician•Prepared Student Manual on using laboratory equipment including software for collecting and analyzing experimental results.•Prepared Laboratory Improvement Sheet and various Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents for equipment. •Equip all laboratories with proper labeling and safety procedures.• Identify and advising Potential Hazard and Safety Precautions on equipment and chemical handling •Organised activities and demonstration for Open Day.•Organised the safe storage, care and handling of chemicals, safe disposal of residues and wastes, including micro- organisms in a systematic procedure.
