I am currently employed as a research technician at VIB's Center for Cancer Biology supporting the research group of Prof. Dr. Colinda Scheele and the Expertise Center for Intravital Imaging led by Dr. Max Nobis. Our main focus lies on unraveling tumor dynamics at multiple scales ranging from the molecular to organ level. The goal is to understand how healthy tissue architecture is involved in this dynamic process of tumorigenic transformation.

I have completed an 8 month research internship at the Expertise Center for Intravital Imaging led by Dr. Max Nobis. My research focused on investigating acquired immunity in pancreatic adenocarcinoma through the utilization of in vivo multiphoton microscopy in studies on cells, organoids, and murine models.Very happy to share that my written dissertation resulting from this internship was nominated to the top 8 of master theses among the class of '24 MSc. Biomedical Science graduates of KULeuven which consisted of over 200 graduates.

During the summer break of my master's program, I had the privilege of securing an international internship placement facilitated by BeMSA (Belgian Medical Students' Association). During this internship, I made a contribution to a project focused on the design and development of a specific antibody designed to target MLC1 in cases of megalencephalic leukoencephalopathy.

Another intersting summer job that allowed me to continue to learn about the scene of biomedical science outside the classroom. I performed daily quality monitoring of cleanrooms at the unit of human tissues. This job had a wide variety of task like monitoring alarms, supplying materials for the lab technicians and general quality control.

Student - Summer job in the urgent-care 24H lab of the OLV-Aalst hospital. This was a great experience that motivated me to pursue a master's degree. I was trusted with urgent patient samples and overall analyses. A fun and challenging first job that sparked an interesse in biomedical sciences.This job also made it possible for me to contribute to the scene of healthcare in the close aftermatch of the COVID-pandemic.

I completed a 5-month internship at the University of Coimbra through the Erasmus+ Internship Program. This international opportunity provided me with my initial exposure to active scientific research. During this period, I participated in the group of Prof. Ferreira and Prof. graça, with a primary focus on investigating environmental factors influencing the health of stream ecosystems.This experience holds a special place in my memory, not only for the invaluable international research exposure it offered but also for the numerous friendships that I forged with individuals from diverse parts of the world.
