As Director, External Supply Integration EH&S² (Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability) I am responsible and accountable for the global EH&S² management of external manufacturers, business critical suppliers and suppliers of API’s and intermediates, both large and small molecules, fill and finish activities and R&D.My daily job is to lead EH&S² management processes and assurance programs to support External Manufacturing sites and suppliers worldwide and to assure EH&S² standards are achieved and maintained at third-party manufacturers. Direct continuous compliance to relevant regulatory authority requirements, effective risk management, preservation of our good reputation, strategy development, implementation and execution, and effective collaboration between R&D, L&A, Operations, TechOps, and other technical disciplines (QA and Engineering) both internal and external. With my global team we ensure business and EH&S² compliance goals are met in full compliance with all J&J and government-issued environmental, health, safety, quality and regulatory policies and guidelines.Using the principles of Responsible and Sustainable manufacturing I hold close collaboration and partnership as thé highest values to improve our supply chain of products towards our patients. Next to the role I have for EH&S I am part of the Janssen Supply Chain Procurement Leadership Team. In this role I help shape and drive the Strategic and Tactic elements for the J&J Pharma Procurement Group.Other Professional Engagements : - Steering Committee member of the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI - http://www.pharmaceuticalsupplychain.org/) - member of SPK (Strategisch Plan Kempen)- Certified Green Belt in Process Excellence- Auditor for ISO14001/OHSAS18001

The goal of this 2 year IDP (International Development Program) project was to reorganize the EH&S organization and to ensure a sustainable and well integrated EH&S management program into the organization. Parallel to the EH&S responsibility I had to lead the implementation of the Business Continuity Program for the whole plant. This BCP is related with ensuring Supply Chain Security of the pharmaceutical products in case of catastropic events.

Working at Tibotec Virco was extremely interesting as I gradually was able to take growing and broader responsibilities varying from coordination fo design and construction of high tech R&D buildings to managing all technical and logistical services and implementing a preventive maintenance plan. As the company grew fast also a robust EH&S management system was needed. Designing the framework, coordination and succesfull implementation of these systems through system based ownership with our top scientists were a great learning school and experience.
