.Recently, I had the honor of producing a film along side Gray Fredrickson producer of the Godfather Trilogy and Andy Horton.I'm a seasoned filmmaker and television producer. I've worn many hats on both TV and film production sets and can proficiently take on any role. I'm most passionate about producing, directing, cinematography, and editing. After a long debate over whether churches should utilize secular music to be relevant, was past due for an answer. I knew few that want to get rid of rock music, and try to get people to listen to traditional music. A lot of churches are against rock music. the desire to get rid of it comes from the idea than anything that is not about god is evil,.I figured that facing opposition would be felt more by churches who at the time were promoting to get kid's to "burn" their "secular rock and roll music, and that it was "evil" In 1982 I started my first concert promotions company "Center Stage Concerts" and I sought after Christian artists generally using secular styles of music, pairing them with lyrics that display faith and spirituality to varying degrees. My "cross over technique was to rent a public, non-religious venue to promote my shows in, as well as advertise and market my shows only on the top mainstream/secular radio stations, primarily top station KJ103. Crossover is a term applied to musical works or performers appearing on two or more of the record charts which track differing musical tastes, or genres. .The room of skepticals of "Christian music" seemed more then willing to show me that there was a market for "alternative Christian music" to be played on mainstream radio. KJ103, now owned by Clear Channel, and Oklahoma Cities and Oklahoma Cities main secular radio station jumped on the idea with me leading the team, and we started KJOY103. KHOY had a successful run for the mid 80's to the mid 90's. The Sunday morning radio show KJOY103 on KJ103, became a nationwide hit in the mid 1980s.
