I felt stuck. After almost 5 years in different tech sales and business development roles, I knew I needed a change. When I first looked into UX Design as a potential career path, it just made sense. Whether it was clothing, buildings, or consumer products, I’ve always been interested in how things look and operate and the thinking that led to these products. After doing further research, I decided to enroll in DesignLab’s UX Academy to begin my path as a user experience designer. After completing UX Academy, I am able to create deliverables including wireframes, user flows, sitemaps, and prototypes. I have experience conducting user interviews, surveys, competitive analyses and more. In previous roles, I contributed both individually and on a team, collaborating as needed. Using my knowledge not only from the DesignLab courses, but from my previous career experience as well, I can effectively communicate user-centered design standards and thinking to help meet business requirements. My familiarity with research processes allows me to synthesize data and relay key points to stakeholders across different departments in order to positively impact projects. I’m fluent in design and accessibility principles and I can implement them within existing design and testing processes.
