My first term at SABIC was spent in the Crystalline Polymers Finishing department. My main project there was evaluating a program that was being utilized for quality control. During my second term at SABIC I worked in the Lexan Resin plant. One of the largest efforts this term focused on sustainability, and my main project dealt with optimization of the precipitation jets and lowering their Steam-to-Resin ratio.My third term at SABIC I worked in the Ultem High Performance Polymers Technology plant. The term was spent working on instrument installation as well as looking at the possibility of installing an in-line grinder to reduce pipe fouling as well as increase percent solids. My fourth term at SABIC was in the Specialty Film and Sheet division. My main project was a design of experiment focusing on reducing sheet distortion on our newest high optical quality sheet extruder.
